- Resumes for Hall of Fame candidates are encouraged to be submitted at any time during the year. Resumes are carried over for subsequent years. All resumes, including carryovers, are reviewed each spring during committee meetings. Each year’s new induction class will be announced on this site early in the spring.
Kapteina Service Award
- About Kapteina Service Award
- Guidelines for nomination and selection for the Kapteina Service Award are relatively broad. This allows for a candidate’s contributions to be evaluated in a variety of athletic civic endeavors such as outstanding community service. These efforts may have been made during the past calendar year or can be a body of work extending over a number of years. There are no age requirements for the Kapteina Award.

Sportsperson(s) of the Year
- About Sportsperson of the Year
- Candidates for the Sportsperson(s) of the Year will be selected on the basis of athletic achievements and accomplishments realized during the previous calendar year. There is no age requirement for this award.
- Nominations for Sports Person of the Year candidates are encouraged to be sent in by the public and can be submitted at any time during the year. The candidate’s accomplishments must have taken place during the previous school year. The Sports Person of the Year Award recipient will be announced on this site early in the spring.
Jack Lonardelli Award
- About the Jack Lonardelli Award
- Awarded to a graduating senior athlete from Norwich Tech and Norwich Free Academy who demonstrate desire, discipline and dedication. The school’s athletic director and administration will select the recipients.
Legends Team Recognition
- About Legends Team Recognition
Teams for the Legends Team Recognition will be selected based on their demonstration of dominance in their field of sports in the Norwich area. Many members of these teams have been inducted into their high school, college, or Norwich Sports Hall of Fame as individuals, but this award honors an entire team which was sponsored by a Club, business, or private person with an interest in amateur sports.
High School Scholarship
- The Norwich Sports Hall of Fame’s Peter Doroshevich Scholarship is awarded to a deserving athlete who has, throughout his/her high school career, demonstrated a desire to succeed in the classroom and on the athletic field and has shown the positive characteristics of leadership and sportsmanship.
- $500 scholarships are awarded each year to an NFA student and a Norwich Tech student.
- Two Peter Doroshevich scholarships are awarded each year to area high school students. One of the scholarships is presented to a Norwich Free Academy student and the other scholarship is presented to a student from Norwich Tech.
